The Philanthropist

Don’t get too hung up on the title because these people can surprise you. The Philanthropist has strong values that can be traced back to their earliest environments where they may have experienced hardship. They see the world from an internal perspective where value can only come from service to something bigger than just the individual desire.

In the previous insights page, we asked you to start picking what you think each of your three lenses were and what persona profiles you related to most. We now want to give you an insight into someones career journey, by grouping each of their three lenses into the below categories.

Dominant Lens.

This one they value the most and is where their curiosity stems from.

Perspective Lens.

The more they value this, the more opportunity they have of becoming self-aware of what’s most important in life.

Growth Lens.

Although they tend to value this the least, this is where their biggest growth is toward creating their brand and better understanding who they are. It’s usually the hardest one to figure out and takes the longest time.

Stan’s Value Goggles:

Meet Stan! A Journalist by trade, Stan’s Indigenous roots have allowed him to see the world through a different lens to most. Growing up with little meant that he didn’t succumb to material or superficial needs, understanding that true value comes from who you are, not who you are not.

Lens 3

Stan has always been curious about “other worlds” beyond his own. Constant travel fuelled his desire to understand and meet different types of people. “Open up to the world…be someone who continually asks questions”.

Lens 1

Stan came from a poor upbringing and small family that use to travel a lot. He even states that he was a “loner” when he was younger and wondered how the world would “one day open up” for him. He attributes his career in journalism to the way his mother “raised him with a sense of wonder about stories.”

Lens 2

Stan’s mission is driven by a desire for social justice and compassion for those who have been forgotten. For him, this search for truth is driven by his deepest values and the shared history he has with his people and community. “Sometimes defiance is all we have”.
